About the Author

John Nye is a retired naval aviator and author. He flew combat missions during the Vietnam War and was shot down and captured in 1967. He was held as a prisoner of war for seven years. After his release from captivity, Nye returned to the United States and earned a degree in history from the University of California, Berkeley. He has written several books about his experiences, including Final Approaches and The Last Mission.
